Digital Storytelling

Week 6

I started looking at design everywhere this week. Oddly enough, it helped me out a lot with a knitting pattern I’ve been working on (less is good). This look at design has inspired me to try to be more minimalist. I often drive myself and others nuts by trying to convey too much, add too much detail. Character limits, space constraints, limited materials and the like can often be my enemy. So. Keep it simple. I really enjoyed using GIMP to photo edit. And yes, I will forever use a Pusheen of some type as a personal representation. I dislike having my picture taken. So there aren’t a lot of those around. It’s also much cleaner than trying to edit myself in. I would go insane. Details can really be my downfall. Oh, and today’s Daily Create combined oddly well with the week’s theme for me. A friend designed a onesie for the baby of two of our friends. She lives on Dunkin Donuts coffee. Like, seriously, I’m pretty sure her blood is 90% Dunkin coffee. Anyways, she designed little dude a onesie that says “[Little Dude] Runs On Dunkin” with the logo, colors, font, everything. Little Dude’s mom runs on Starbucks (it’s a semi-serious point of contention), so we all laughed hysterically about it. Sadly, I can’t find the picture either of them sent me of it.
